About Kaz the designer

First of all, I think it's important to mention that "Kaz" is my nickname. Kasmier men have gone by Kaz for the last three generations. I digress...

Art and design are in my blood going back many generations. my father was a commercial photographer with overly abundant creativity and my mother a fine artist. Both rubbed off on me but I took to the computer as it came of age. Adobe applications, computer logic and the web set me free of the drafting table and easel.

A classic art education with all disciplines from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco was a great gift. I got my Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2002 and set out on my own. Between times of complete freelancing I took on part time jobs with various web and design companies to learn more. Through it all I've worked more and more with storyhat and find myself most pleased with the superior work we've done.

Today I find myself quite at ease with print and graphic design but my real love is designing for the web. Building solid web ready templates from my designs has become my place of true inner happiness. What can I say - I'm cheesy.

The rest of my time is devoted to my growing family, mastering the kitchen even more and being the biggest wine geek you'll meet. On the wine note... I also pour wine at my family's winery/tasting room on Sundays.

Kaz the guy...

As of the Fall of 2009 my life is as follows:

I am the proud father of a rambunctious 2 year old, Madeline. My wife, Emily, and I spoil her with our love and constant attention.

I design during the week and work pouring/selling wine on Sundays. This offers a great balance of social interaction and keeps me tuned in with the masses of the world.

Living in the land of food and wine is perfect for creative types. I'm a "foodie" for sure. Cooking and eating good food are my favorite past times.

Go figure I know a ton about wine too. I have the nose and tongue for it I suppose. No worries, I'm fun but certainly not a wino. Not yet anyhow. ;-)

I've learned that true happiness comes in unexpected fleeting moments. Looking for those jewels of time is a waste - just let them surprise you. And in the end, just be thankful you had them.
