Portfolio - Web Design

Eye-candy is great when it works as part of the brand but most sites are presenting information that needs to take center stage. My philosophy with the web is to keep it simple, clean and functional with what appears like a dash of design.

storyhat
storyhat
Company Type: Naming and Branding Design Group
Website Insights: I played Jr. Designer and Head programmer for this one of a kind portfolio site. Being the Art Director for storyhat made me want to spend less time designing and more time learning some cool Java FX to spice up our site. There are a lot of examples on this site that are of my doing, at least in part, so check it out.

Intellecap
Intellecap
Company Type:Worldwide capital for development opportunities
Website Needs: They wanted clean and modern above all else. However, the need for a graphical tie-in to their messaging: "shaping outcomes for effective social enterprise" had to be solid. Thus the photography really had to be well picked. The "shaping part and the pottery seemed fantastic. We took the imagery in the internal pages to the finished pots, "outcome", and most photos have hands to bring in the human/"social" side. I also built the template which has some really nice rollovers on the home page. This project marked the first time that I did business with a company in India.

Wellington Vineyard
Wellington Vineyards
Company Type: Winery
Project Notes:Wellington Vineyards is perhaps my oldest client that still taps me for web design needs. This is our third design with the first being done in 2001. I and the web have come a long way!
Website Needs: A fresh look with a soft yet rich experience was called for. The vast bulk of the branding is on the dry side so more imagery and human touch was required. A simple CMS solution was also required as well as integration to a third part cart. The final product hit the bullseye!
